Homemade Laundry Detergent

Whoa! This looks like something worth trying out! She was able to make a 5 gallon bucket of laundry detergent (yield 75 cups, and you use 1/2-1 cup per load) for....$2!!! Awesome! That's got to be cheaper than Costco. And, she said it is safe to use in HE washers as well, which is good because that's what we have.

I made a batch of homemade laundry soap a couple of months ago. I really like it. I used the recipe on this website: http://www.duggarfamily.com/recipes.html (it is the 3rd recipe down) My clothes don't smell all perfumy (which I think my mind equated with "clean"), which has taken some getting used to, but it is for sure cheap, and doesn't have lots of yucky chemicals. This recipe says that it makes 180 loads for a top load washer or 600 and something for a front load washer. Can't beat that!
